Challenge

Malawi Holidays operated primarily through manual processes, emails, phone calls, and messaging apps, which made it difficult to manage bookings, update accommodations, and maintain consistent communication with travelers. As interest in Malawi as a destination grew, the existing setup could not scale or meet modern traveler expectations.

Approach

We started with deep discovery sessions to understand how the team handled bookings, tours, and customer communication. Drawing inspiration from successful regional and international travel platforms, we mapped the full traveler journey, from inspiration and research to booking and post-trip follow-up, and designed a system that balanced automation with the personal touch Malawi Holidays is known for.

Solution

  • Centralized platform for accommodations, itineraries, blogs, and travel news
  • Custom booking workflows tailored to guided tours and local travel experiences
  • Integrated payment system for deposits and full payments where required
  • Admin dashboard for easy content, pricing, and availability management
  • Mobile-first design optimized for international and local users

Impact

  • Reduced reliance on manual coordination and scattered communication
  • Improved trust with international travelers through a professional online presence
  • Faster response times for booking inquiries and confirmations
  • Stronger brand positioning as a modern, reliable Malawian travel partner
